THIS IS International Coaching Week and Rook Tree Coaching will be taking part in a number of events to share good practice across the commercial, public and not-for-profit sectors throughout the week.
International Coaching Week commenced in 1999, when International Coaching Federation (ICF) Master Certified Coach Jerri N. Udelson, of Santa Fe, N.M., USA, declared it a special time for coaches to celebrate and promote personal and business coaching. Coaches all over the world are involved in this global celebration each year.
Rook Tree Executive Coach, Lesley Cave, whole heartedly supports the ICF definition of coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Like the ICF, she believes that coaching is a distinct skill and service that differs greatly from therapy, consulting, mentoring or training. Those individuals who engage in a coaching relationship can expect to experience fresh perspectives on personal challenges and opportunities, enhanced thinking and decision-making skills, enhanced interpersonal effectiveness, and increased confidence in carrying out their chosen work and life roles.
The International Coach Federation is the leading global organization for coaches, with over 20,000 members in more than 100 countries and more than 9,000 credentialed coaches worldwide. ICF is dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high ethical standards, providing independent certification, and building a worldwide network of credentialed coaches. Coaching is a distinct service and differs greatly from therapy, consulting, mentoring, or training. ICF defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. For more information, please visit their website at www.coachfederation.org.
